HENRY MICHAEL O'CONNOR was an artist born in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1891. He studied art in Boston at the Massachusetts Normal Art School; and at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, with Edmund Tarbell, Joseph DeCamp, and Abbott Thayer. He studied in Paris at the Académie Julian. In addition he was a pupil of Joseph Pennell. O’Connor was an etcher, illustrator, and painter. In 1920-21 he was an apprentice to Abbott Thayer in Dublin, New Hampshire. O'Connor was an Official War Artist for the Navy in World War One and World War Two.  Henry O'Connor illustrated two books: Gloucester Fisherman and Navy Men.  O'Connor was an artist Member of the Salmagundi Club from 1932-1975 and served as President of the Salmagundi Club in 1947 and 1948. His work is in the permanent collections of the Massachusetts State Capital, Harvard University, and the Newark Museum.
